PGA Finalis sutures are synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical sutures composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA). The empirical formula of the polymer is (C2H2O2)n. The braided sutures are evenly coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. PGA Sutures comply with the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia on "Sutures, sterile, synthetic, absorbable, braided" and those of the United States Pharmacopoeia on "Absorbable surgical sutures".
