The Bowie & Dick Test is an essential device for the daily testing of steam sterilizers. It is designed to ensure that steam penetrates effectively and that air is properly evacuated, thus ensuring optimal sterilization of surgical instruments.

Information

Bowie Dick test tests the autoclave's capacity to sterilise porous items such as gowns and drapes. It needs to be carried out every day on a specific cycle (in an empty autoclave). Aim: Steam is forced to penetrate successive layers of card and cause a reaction on a piece of paper printed with indicator ink. Presentation: The ready-to-use package contains multiple layers of card, in the centre of which is a chemical indicator sheet with thermochromatic ink.
